Happy Shoppers. The GreenwoodBallard CoolMoms greeted over 100 happy shoppers at our first Toy Swap 'n' Sale, held on November 14th, 2009, at the Woodland Park United Methodist Church. Thanks to the generosity of friends, families and community, the holiday toy shop was a feast for the eyes. And since everything was used, the pocketbooks were happy too!

Eager shoppers arrived early to select some really fun toys, including an outdoor climber, a play grocery store, wooden toys and puzzles, books and stuffed friends. Said one mom, lugging a large play parking garage behind her, "This is great! Right here, this is my son's Christmas! He is going to be so excited. I can just see his eyes on Christmas morning!"

Benefits to the Planet. The GreenwoodBallard CoolMoms partnered with FamilyWorks to help make this event a success. In addition to collecting toys for the sale, FamilyWorks helped spread the word about this worthwhile event. The proceeds from this sale, totaling over $1200 will benefit both CoolMom and FamilyWorks. But the true winner is Mother Earth! Every family that shopped the Toy Swap 'n' Sale decided to re-use toys rather than buying them new. So, those used toys aren't in the landfill and new toys aren't being created to take their place. And on Christmas morning, many children's eyes will light up at the sight of their new, gently-used toys.

Thanks to everyone who volunteered their time, use of their space, and their toys to make this event so successful!

Happy Holidays Everyone!
