1Sky Art for Climate. CoolMom took part in 1Sky's "Make Art for Climate" campaign. More than 200 gatherings nationwide created art to ask President Obama to push for a legally binding treaty in Copenhagen. Our murals were specific to our Washington State Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell asking them to support a strong energy bill and to support President Obama's trip to Copenhagen.  The United Nations Climate Summit in Copenhagen, Demark is gathering national leaders to discuss important issues surrounding climate change and clean energy. The official first day of the summit is just five days away, starting December 7 and continues through December 18.

CoolMom Art for Our Washington Senators. Our very own CoolMom artist, Naomi Mittet made these two beautiful murals with some help from some CoolKids.  A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO Naomi and her daughter for making these murals so special and to Amy Eby for working her magic on the sewing machine!

These murals were sent today [December 2] to the 1Sky office in D.C. to be taken to the Senator's Offices this week. They are an expression of why Moms, Dads and families want the US government to take action on Climate Change legislation this year. Each mural includes the following statement, 

As one of our CoolMom members left for one of our monthly meetings her son, age 5, asked what she did at the meetings. She replied, "We talk about climate change and saving the planet." Her son's response was, "Mom you can't save the planet by just talking!" Wise words from a 5 year old. So, please vote for a strong climate energy bill. The time is now to show that the US is serious about climate change. Support President Obama in Copenhagen and show the world that the US will be a strong leader in Clean energy and Climate Change regulation for the sake of the planet and our children's futures.
